It is important to create spaces, such as school communities, where the behavioral norms are not tolerant of abuse in dating relationships.The message must be clear that treating people in abusive ways will not be accepted, and policies must enforce this message to keep students safe.In addition to the 24-session support group and 8-session leadership training curricula, the program manual includes the Austin Independent School District's policy concerning dating violence, sexual harassment and bullying and guidance on implementing school-wide prevention strategies including universal education, staff training and parent engagement.
