Andrew made his first British television appearance in 2005 by appearing in the teen drama Sugar Rush aired on Channel 4.
At the age of sixteen, his friend convinced him to take Theatre Studies at A-level.He joined Priory Preparatory School in Banstead and for his further education, he attended the City of London Freemen’s School in Ashtead.This role made his amass the 2008 British Academy Television Award in the category for the Best Actor.He appeared in the minor role for the film The Other Boleyn Girl in 2008.In November 2007, Andrew made his American debut by appearing as a student of an American university in the drama Lions for Lambs co-starring Tom Cruise, Robert Redford and Meryl Streep.
Andrew was seen portraying the role of the notorious killer trying to find new life after prison in the Channel 4 drama Boy A which was released in November 2004.
He was the winner of the Manchester Evening News Theatre Award in 2004 in the category of Best Newcomer for his role at Manchester’s Royal Exchange in Kes.
He also acquired the 2006 Evening Standard Theatre Awards for the category of the Outstanding Newcomer Award.
His paternal grandparents belong to the Jewish immigrant from Eastern Europe.
It was said that his family’s surname was “Garfinkel” in the past. His parents used to run a small interior design business on which the family was happily living a sustainable life.
